Parking and permits

Citrus Heights rules for moving trucks, trailers and containers.

Key rule: In Citrus Heights, commercial vehicles, including semi-trucks, trailers and STAA trucks, are prohibited from parking on all public streets, though temporary loading and unloading is allowed.

Citrus Heights bars commercial vehicles, as defined in Vehicle Code section 260, from parking on public streets except for temporary loading and unloading, and limits them to one hour plus the time reasonably needed to load, unload or perform a service. A POD, dumpster or container placed in the right-of-way needs a city permit, valid for 3 to 5 business days, while one that fits on a private driveway without affecting the right-of-way doesn't. The city needs at least 10 days to review permit applications.
