Parking and permits

Firestone rules for moving trucks, trailers and containers.

Key rule: In Firestone, a trailer can sit on the street only directly in front of the owner's home, for no more than 72 hours while it is loaded or unloaded.

Firestone's code keeps trailers off the public right-of-way except directly in front of the owner's home for up to 72 hours of loading or unloading, unless code enforcement has issued a permit, and in residential districts it bars commercial vehicles and vehicles or trailer combinations over 25 feet unless they are rendering services nearby. Any work on town right-of-way needs a Right of Way Permit from the Engineering Division. In snow, nothing may stay parked on a designated snow route, and residential streets generally aren't plowed in standard storms.

  • Trucks, trailers and large vehicles

Firestone prohibits parking a recreational vehicle, travel trailer or trailer on the public right-of-way except directly in front of the registered owner's home for up to 72 hours while it is being loaded or unloaded, or under a permit.

  • Trucks, trailers and large vehicles

On the right-of-way next to any lot in a residential district, Firestone bars parking commercial vehicles, motor vehicles over 25 feet long and trailer combinations over 25 feet long or 8 feet wide, unless the vehicle is rendering services to a property within 200 feet.

  • Trucks, trailers and large vehicles

Moving a trailer or vehicle to another spot on the street does not satisfy the rule; it must be removed from the right-of-way.
