Parking and permits

Plymouth rules for moving trucks, trailers and containers.

Key rule: In Plymouth, trunks, boxes, crates or packages left on a sidewalk or street must be removed within 60 minutes of a police officer or constable telling you to remove them.

Plymouth's town bylaws let a police officer or constable order boxes, trunks and other items off a sidewalk or street, with 60 minutes to clear them, and any vehicle that blocks snow removal can be towed at the owner's expense. The zoning bylaw keeps trucks or trailers with three or more axles out of the front setback of homes in residential districts. The DPW plows main arteries, hills and critical care facilities first, and secondary residential streets usually wait three to four hours.
