Key rule: In Quincy, the city code bars trailers and commercial vehicles, defined to include cargo vans and any vehicle larger than one ton, from standing or parking on city streets except to avoid traffic conflicts or when directed by police or a traffic control device.
Quincy's code bars trailers, cargo vans and other commercial vehicles larger than one ton from standing or parking on city streets, and parking for more than two hours between 1 a.m. and 7 a.m. requires a resident overnight permit. For the 2026-27 winter, parking during a snow emergency is allowed only on the even side of non-artery side streets, and vehicles on emergency arteries are towed.
