Fairfax rules for moving trucks, trailers and containers.
Key rule: In Fairfax, a rental trailer can't be parked on a street in a residentially zoned area except while it is being loaded or unloaded.
In the City of Fairfax, the city code bars trailers from streets in residential zones except while loading or unloading, and bars commercial vehicles and non-commercial trucks or vans of 9,000 pounds or more from residential zones, though those rules don't apply to vehicles picking up or dropping off merchandise while performing work or service. In residential permit parking districts, visitors without a permit can be limited to two hours, temporary visitor passes last up to seven days, and permits for people doing business with a resident last no more than a week. Parking on snow emergency routes is banned automatically once three inches of snow and ice has built up for an hour.
