Vienna rules for moving trucks, trailers and containers.
Key rule: In Vienna, a trailer, or any vehicle with a gross vehicle weight of 12,000 pounds or more, may be parked on a public street only while actively loading or unloading, and violators may be towed.
In Vienna, the town code treats every trailer, and any vehicle of 12,000 pounds or more gross vehicle weight or with three or more axles, as a restricted vehicle that may sit on a public street only while actively loading or unloading. Commercial vehicles such as dump trucks and tractor trucks are barred from residential streets unless they are picking up or temporarily parked to perform work or service, and no vehicle may be left unattended on a street for more than 48 hours. Plowing begins at about two inches of snow, with neighborhood streets cleared after primary and secondary roads.

Vienna moving questions
Can I park a rental trailer on the street in Vienna?
Only while actively loading or unloading. Town Code Section 9-13.2 counts any trailer, hitched or not, as a restricted vehicle, and restricted vehicles parked in violation may be towed at the owner's expense.
Does the rule cover a large rental moving truck?
It covers any vehicle with a gross vehicle weight of 12,000 pounds or more or with three or more axles. The code doesn't name rental trucks, so check your truck's gross vehicle weight; a truck under that weight isn't covered by this rule.
Where can the moving crew park on a permit-restricted street in Vienna?
The restriction does not apply to service or delivery vehicles serving nearby homes. Residents can also get day permits for guests or people doing business at the home, valid for no more than 12 hours.
When does Vienna plow if it snows on moving day?
Plowing begins at about two inches of snow. Primary streets are cleared first, then secondary roads, then neighborhood streets.
