Parking and permits

Alpine rules for moving trucks, trailers and containers.

Key rule: In Alpine, an unincorporated community governed by San Diego County, parking on parts of Alpine Boulevard is time-limited by county code, including a 2-hour limit from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. on a stretch west of Arnold Way.

Alpine has no city government, so San Diego County's code applies. County code sets short time limits on parts of Alpine Boulevard, bars leaving a vehicle on a street for more than 72 hours, requires at least eight feet of travel lane to be left clear beside a parked vehicle, and requires a written county permit to place an encroachment in a road. Construction equipment may not run between 7 p.m. and 7 a.m. or on Sundays and holidays, and the Alpine Fire Protection District points residents to the Genasys Protect app for evacuation warnings and to SDG&E for wildfire-related power shutoffs.
