Longmont rules for moving trucks, trailers and containers.
Key rule: In Longmont, a pod on the street needs a permit and proof of insurance.
Longmont treats a pod or dumpster on the street as a temporary obstruction, which needs a Work in the Right-of-Way permit and a certificate of insurance; residents can typically add that coverage to a homeowner's or renter's policy. Trucks over 7,000 pounds empty are limited to posted truck routes except when delivering, picking up or reaching a destination, and a vehicle left on the street 48 hours or longer counts as abandoned, though vehicles may stay while being actively loaded or unloaded. Truck loading and unloading within 250 feet of a residential lot isn't allowed from 10 p.m. to 7 a.m.
