Louisville rules for moving trucks, trailers and containers.

Key rule: In Louisville, trucks and trailers used for moving are exempt from the 24-hour limit on large vehicles parked on residential streets.

Louisville limits trucks over 18 feet, trailers and RVs to 24 hours on residential streets, but the limit doesn't apply to vehicles used for moving operations, and the code allows loading or unloading a moving van for 24 hours or less. A trailer can't be left unhitched in the right-of-way unless it's being used for one of those purposes. A dumpster or roll-off in the street goes through Public Works, which charges a weekly right-of-way fee for storing materials such as a roll-off.
