Pompano Beach rules for moving trucks, trailers and containers.
Key rule: In Pompano Beach, a portable storage unit (POD) at a home may stay no more than three consecutive days, and no more than six days a year.
Pompano Beach's zoning code limits a portable storage unit in a residential district to three consecutive days and six days a year, requires a posted Temporary Use Permit, and places the unit in the driveway or, with rear alley access, the rear yard; a front-yard spot needs the Development Services Director's finding that it will not obstruct the public right-of-way. All units must be removed immediately when a hurricane warning is issued. City code bans storing commercial vehicles, including trailers and box trucks, in the street right-of-way, but storing excludes loading and unloading, and an exception covers active loading where the property lacks driveway space, though never within 50 feet of an intersection or marked crosswalk.
