Coral Gables rules for moving trucks, trailers and containers.
Key rule: In Coral Gables, a residential moving truck may load or unload between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. without the usual two-hour limit, and a move between 7 p.m. and 7 a.m. needs a special waiver from the Development Services Director.
In Coral Gables, the zoning code bars trucks, trailers and commercial vehicles from residential property and overnight street parking, but residential moving trucks may load or unload from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. without the usual two-hour limit, and a night move needs a special waiver. A portable storage unit needs a zoning permit before it is placed, is limited to one unit of 130 square feet per site, a permit lasts at most seven consecutive days, and in residential areas it must sit out of view of the street where possible and five feet from the property line. All portable storage units must leave the city as soon as a hurricane watch is issued, and residential decal zones require a decal or hang tag during enforcement hours.
