Danville rules for moving trucks, trailers and containers.
Key rule: In Danville, town code bans parking a vehicle or vehicle-and-trailer combination over 20 feet long or 7 feet high, or an unattached trailer, on any residential street, with exceptions for loading or unloading a noncommercial vehicle and for commercial vehicles making deliveries.
In the Town of Danville, oversize vehicles, meaning anything over 20 feet long or 7 feet high including a trailer combination, and unattached trailers may not park on residential streets. Exceptions cover someone loading or unloading a noncommercial vehicle, commercial oversize vehicles making pickups or deliveries, and residents with a Danville Police Department permit for up to 48 hours in front of their home, but none of them apply within 25 feet of a corner or when the vehicle blocks the sidewalk. Commercial vehicles rated at 10,000 pounds or more may not park in residence districts except to pick up or deliver goods, any vehicle left 72 or more hours can be removed, and leaving an obstruction in the right-of-way needs a written permit.
