Fremont rules for moving trucks, trailers and containers.
Key rule: In Fremont, city code bans parking an oversized vehicle (over 22 feet long, among other size limits) within 100 feet of a home, but exempts one that is actively loading or unloading, which must park at the curb next to the home or within 400 feet if that curb is not available.
Fremont bans oversized vehicles, including those over 22 feet long with any trailer, from public streets within 100 feet of a residential property line, but vehicles actively loading or unloading at an adjacent residence are exempt and must park at that curb or within 400 feet. Where signs are posted, trucks over 10,000 pounds may park in front of homes only while loading or unloading property, and anything placed in the public right-of-way needs an encroachment permit. Sustained motor or engine noise near homes is restricted from 10 p.m. to 7 a.m.
