Cicero rules for moving trucks, trailers and containers.
Key rule: In Cicero, a vehicle may not protrude into any street except while actually loading or unloading, and even then it may not block other traffic.
These rules come from the Town of Cicero government's Town Code and its Highway Department; the Village of North Syracuse, partly in the town, has its own rules. A vehicle may stick out into the street only while actually loading or unloading and must never block passing traffic, and trucks and vans with more than one ton of carrying capacity can't park in residential districts except for deliveries or service calls. From November 15 to April 15, parking on Town highways is banned from 1 a.m. to 8 a.m. Through traffic of trucks weighing nine tons or more is banned on certain listed Town roads, a rubbish dumpster must sit at least 15 feet from any permanent structure, and furniture is not taken with regular trash pickup.
