Parking and permits

Hemet rules for moving trucks, trailers and containers.

Key rule: In Hemet, unattached, inoperable or non-powered trailers are prohibited from being parked or stored on city streets, alleys or driveways.

Hemet prohibits parking or storing unattached trailers on streets, alleys and driveways, and keeps commercial vehicles and truck tractors off residential streets unless signs allow it and off all streets and alleys from 2 a.m. to 6 a.m. unless posted. On a residential lot, a vehicle being loaded or unloaded may sit on the driveway or in a side or rear yard for up to 72 hours, and posted alleys allow 20 minutes of loading. Placing belongings on a street, sidewalk or right-of-way needs the city council's express permission.
