Key rule: In Ontario, large commercial vehicles, including trailers and trucks wider than 80 inches or taller than 7 feet, may not park on residential streets except in listed cases, one of which lets them stay parked while goods are loaded or unloaded until the work is done.

In Ontario, city code bars large commercial vehicles, including trailers and trucks wider than 80 inches or taller than 7 feet, from parking on residential streets except in listed cases, one of which lets them stay while goods are loaded or unloaded until the work is finished. Non-commercial oversized vehicles over 25 feet long, 8.5 feet wide or 7 feet high need a temporary permit, which lasts up to 48 hours, to park on any public street. Commercial vehicles making pickups or deliveries are exempt from posted permit-parking zone limits, and the city runs a citywide residential street sweeping program with designated parking restrictions.
