Parking and permits

Aurora rules for moving trucks, trailers and containers.

Key rule: In Aurora, containers aren’t allowed in the street at all, so plan on the driveway.

Aurora doesn't allow storage pods or dumpsters on public streets at all. A container has to go on private property, such as a driveway, through the Temporary Use Permit program. Trucks and trailers over 6,000 pounds empty or 22 feet long are restricted on city streets, though larger trucks may use them to load or unload at a destination by the most direct route, and shorter trailers can stay on the street no more than 24 hours. Signed snow emergency routes are ticketed and towed during storms.
