Parking and permits

Southlake rules for moving trucks, trailers and containers.

Key rule: In Southlake, parking a truck over one and one-half tons by manufacturer's classification, or any trailer, truck-tractor or bus, on a street in a residential area is an offense except for the time needed for loading, unloading or delivering goods.

Southlake's code restricts parking trucks over one and one-half tons and any trailer, truck-tractor or bus on residential-area streets, with an exception for the time needed to load, unload or deliver goods. No vehicle may stay in the same spot on a public street for more than 24 continuous hours, and stops in a marked loading zone to load or unload materials are capped at 15 minutes. Trucks as the traffic code defines them must use designated truck routes, except for the shortest route to and from a local destination.
