Parking and permits

Redondo Beach rules for moving trucks, trailers and containers.

Key rule: In Redondo Beach, a trailer parked on a street must stay hitched to a vehicle that can move it, except while it is being loaded or unloaded, for no more than two hours.

In Redondo Beach, an unhitched trailer may sit on a street only while being loaded or unloaded and for no more than two hours, and oversized vehicles (22 feet or longer, or 8 feet high and 7 feet wide) may not park on public streets between 2 a.m. and 6 a.m. unless the oversized-vehicle article allows it. Heavy commercial vehicles are barred from residential streets except for pickups and deliveries, and placing anything in the public right-of-way needs an encroachment permit backed by at least $1,000,000 in liability insurance naming the city.
