Parking and permits

Walnut rules for moving trucks, trailers and containers.

Key rule: In Walnut, a vehicle longer than 25 feet or wider than 96 inches may not be parked on any city street outside the code's exceptions, though loading or unloading for a property on the same block is allowed.

Walnut bans street parking between 2:00 a.m. and 4:00 a.m. unless the vehicle has a permit, and overnight residential permits cover only noncommercial passenger vehicles, not recreational vehicles. Vehicles over the code's length or width limits can't park on city streets except while loading, unloading or serving a property on the block, and the sheriff removes vehicles left on a street for 72 or more consecutive hours. Alley stops are limited to temporary loading of up to 20 minutes.
