Parking and permits

La Mirada rules for moving trucks, trailers and containers.

Key rule: In La Mirada, any vehicle, trailer or combination over eight feet wide, seven and a half feet tall or 20 feet long may not be parked on any street at any time without a nonconforming-vehicle permit, unless state or federal law expressly allows it, such as a licensed delivery vehicle while delivering.

La Mirada requires a permit for any vehicle or trailer combination over eight feet wide, seven and a half feet tall or 20 feet long to park on a street at any time; residents can get 72-hour permits, up to 20 a year, and the vehicle must stay within 100 feet of the home. Trailers must remain attached to a towing vehicle, and parking on major and secondary streets is banned from 2 a.m. to 6 a.m. Residential streets are swept weekly with parking restrictions on sweeping days, and Preferential Parking District blocks require a city permit on every parked car.
