Parking and permits

New Windsor rules for moving trucks, trailers and containers.

Key rule: In New Windsor, no dumpster may be placed in or on a public right-of-way.

These rules come from the Town of New Windsor government's Town Code. Dumpsters can't be placed in or on a public right-of-way, goods can sit on a sidewalk only temporarily while loading or unloading (no longer than one hour), and parking on any Town road is banned after a snowfall of two inches or more until the road is plowed. On residential lots, zoning allows one commercial vehicle up to 25 feet long outside the required yards and one stored (not used) camping trailer or motor home.
