Yorktown rules for moving trucks, trailers and containers.
Key rule: In Yorktown, no vehicle may be parked, stored or left standing on any town street or highway between 1 a.m. and 7 a.m. from November 20 to April 20 each year.
These rules come from the Town of Yorktown government's Town Code and its Highway Department. From November 20 to April 20, no vehicle may be left on town streets from 1 a.m. to 7 a.m., and commercial vehicles and trailers, as the code defines them, can't park on public streets from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. unless they are delivering to or serving nearby premises, or for more than two hours in residential areas during the day. Storing a trailer, or shipping and storage containers the Building Inspector judges to have a negative visual impact, on residentially zoned property needs a special use permit, and the Chief of Police can post temporary no-parking signs on a street for up to seven days.
