Eastchester rules for moving trucks, trailers and containers.
Key rule: In Eastchester, a portable storage unit needs a temporary permit, must sit on a paved driveway on private property rather than in the public right-of-way, and may stay no more than 14 consecutive days in a six-month period.
These rules come from the Town of Eastchester government, through its Zoning Law and Town Clerk, Police and Highway pages; the Villages of Bronxville and Tuckahoe inside the town have their own codes. A portable storage unit (POD) needs a temporary permit, is limited to one unit of up to 1,024 cubic feet on a paved private driveway, and can stay no more than 14 consecutive days in six months. On Garth Road, parking needs a permit from 7 to 9 a.m. on weekdays, and residents can request a short exemption for a rental vehicle or visitor before 6:30 a.m.
