Lindenhurst rules for moving trucks, trailers and containers.
Key rule: In Lindenhurst, a portable storage container (POD) can never be placed on a sidewalk, street or public right-of-way, and it can't stay on a residential lot for more than 30 days without the Village Administrator's written approval.
These rules come from the Village of Lindenhurst's Village Code. A POD or other temporary storage container can't be put on a street, sidewalk or right-of-way, where the Village may impound it for $500 plus $20 a day, and it can sit on a residential lot for 30 days (180 at most with written approval). On residential streets only passenger-plated cars up to seven feet tall may park, and commercial vehicles (any vehicle without passenger plates) may park only while actually loading or unloading. After a declared snow emergency, vehicles can't be left unattended on designated snow streets after the first two hours.
