Riverhead rules for moving trucks, trailers and containers.
Key rule: In Riverhead, no parking is permitted on either side of any roadway while a snow or winter storm emergency is declared.
These rules come from the Town of Riverhead government's Town Code; Riverhead has no incorporated villages, so the Town Code covers the whole town. No parking is allowed on either side of any roadway during a declared snow or winter storm emergency, unattended trailers may not be left on Town highways or lots, and trucks or trailers may not be parked on the non-driveway part of a front yard. Furniture may sit on the sidewalk briefly while loading, and the noise code restricts loading and unloading boxes and crates between 8 p.m. and 7 a.m. when it causes unreasonable noise across a residential property line.
